While admiring my 525xc on the trail today, I noticed the cross over settings on front shocks were way out of adjustment. One side had the tender spring completely locked out, while the other side had full play. I thought the front was feeling a little strange. The adjusting rings on one side must have been loose and migrated. I haven't adjusted them since I bought it, and I assume they were set evenly at the factory. Anyway, the lesson is you might want to check them. You can't tell by the position of the adjustment rings. You've got to measure the distance between the sliding bushing and the spring retainer.
