Thank you for that piece of info. I was filling a cart up on KTMWorld but they could not guarantee what was still available.RockyMountainATV.com. Sell both OEM and aftermarket parts. Thanks for the welcome! Much appreciated. What years were the 505sx produced? Is it only 2009?Welcome! Very nice SX’s! I second, RMATV/MC. Motosport also.
Tell me more about the 2010 intake booth mod please.2008-2009 for XC models in the US. 2009 was the only model year SX sold in the US.
For OEM parts I second Rocky Mountain. I have a fairly good relationship with a couple dealers though and there are some items that you have to go to a dealer to buy: front shock rebuild kits or if you do the intake boot mod from the European 2010 models are a couple examples that come to mind.
Sure, On the SX quads it's a plastic piece that slides in the intake tube from the air filter side and helps keep it from collapsing from intake suction or pressure from the seat pan. The 2010 and newer European models had it stock so that is where it comes from. Fits the 2009 SX intake without any modifications. It's an upgrade on the XC models to switch over to the SX style intake with that stiffener. Flows about as good as any aftermarket intake.Tell me more about the 2010 intake booth mod please.
Thank you very much for all this information. I will make sure to do these mods to prolong the engine life. Also, the stiffener can move so be sure to push it up in the intake when you change air filters: (9) Keeping the Intake Stiffener In Place | KTM ATV HQ Forums
You're looking for part #10. Pull out part #5 if it's still there at the back of the airbox.

If you haven't yet I encourage you to go the SX Engine section of the forum and do the 6 basic mods pinned to the top of the forum. That will help you keep them running longer and trouble free. I believe warmup/cooldown on these engines is a key factor to engine life. I have 120hrs on my 505 race quad and have yet to have an issue with the engine, but everytime it has been started i have let it warm up to operating temp without touching the throttle and let it cool down until the fan doesn't run any more. Put an hour meter on it and change oil every 5 hrs. You will know its time because by 6 hrs the transmission will start to feel notchy. I run the KTM hi-flow water pump, engine ice, Amsoil 10W-50 oil, and I have not overheated it yet running 20min motos. The fan runs quite a bit but it doesn't boil over.
Thanks, I placed an order with themRockyMountainATV.com. Sell both OEM and aftermarket parts.
