hi all i need some expert reccomendations on some wheels for the 525 for mx setup

front rim size?

rear rim size?

front wheel size?

rear wheel size?

-i race hard pack/ sand mx i would prefer maxxis tyres so i also need reccomendation for tyre type

- next if i go down in wheel size from the original tyres on the 525 will i have to alter gearing?, what sort of effect does tyre size have on engine performance i.e will the bike rev more, loose top end ect

18 inch rears, go up one tooth on the front sprocket gets the gearing in the right ball park.

I use my stock rear suzuki ltr rims with Rocky Mountain tusk wheel spacers, gets it on the money (just under 51 inch)

fronts I use stock yamaha rims this gets another 1/2" or so each side without screwing the steering to bad.

As far as tires, see what the fast guys are using in your local conditions.

hey man thanks for the advice, i posted this on the ozatv website and guys thier helped me out , i ended up with 18 x 9 x 10 on rear and 20x10x6 front , got some douglas racing rim locks, i changed the front sproket up one tooth gearing feels pretty close but the guys did some calculations and they wreckon to get even closer to original i should go one tooth smaller on rear, i got the sproket but haven;t tried mounting it yet as i mainly race mx and haven't felt i need more top end. you have offered some good advice on these forums kiwi, keep it up good to have active members

i know its a little late, but what model of tire did you get, ive used holeshot sxs for 2 years now, no problems till thies year, the same tire has been punctures twice
, they are a pretty good all around tire though. hey kiwi, do you think you could get me a link to those spacers?

i went with maxis MX that is what they are called as per thier website, i really like these tyres and cant say i can fault them except they appear very soft and i imagine they will wear real quick were i race as its hard pack and wreaks havoc on all tyres.
