The ATV we all hoped KTM would build

Die hard two-stroke enthusiasts are always scheming up ways to feed their addiction. One such fellow is Walt Schumacher, a GNCC racer from West Mansfield Ohio who had a wild hair to build a one-off hybrid ATV that utilized KTM’s big 300cc two stroke engine. After months of searching, a friend at Appalachian Off Road Motorcycles scrounged up a 2017 KTM 300XC engine and the rest is history. Schumacher debuted the machine at the recent Big Buck GNCC season opener with less than an hour of testing time on it. We’ll be sure to check back in with him throughout the season to see how the quad performs, but for now, check out a few pictures of this incredibly clean build and a quick clip of his first race aboard the beast.
