I was wondering if having a gutted pipe is close in hp to sending a bunch of money on a aftermarket pipe. I gutted mine, it runs well and did not get louder. just wondering if I should spend the money on a new pipe.

I gutted mine also, Removed Sparky, and mod'd the end cap, this picked up about 3/4 of a HP or so, I have not seen any side by side dyno runs of stock/gutted vers aftermarket pipe, I would say the stock pipe is as good as some when gutted and no where near other pipes, I'd be more then willing to do dyno runs on any pipe side by side, Driver 311 and I did this for people on the LTR forum, we also did the cam shootout
