If you ride your ktm in the dunes you are required to have a flag on your quad. The stock mount for this is under the plastic on the left hand side of the grab bar. My buddy cut out the marked hole for this mount but the first time he rolled his quad over his plastic cracked from the hole to the back edge of the fender. I found a clamp on cb antenna mount at a truck stop for $19.99 that works perfectly on the rear grab bar and I didn't have to cut a hole in my brand new 525. After 4 days of hard dune riding/jumping it was still going strong. never came lose, never moved.

He used a step bit. It also looked factory. It didn't crack until he rolled it on a sand dune. Maybe it would have broke anyway but I chose to use the antenna mount. it was made to clamp on the side mirrors of an 18 wheeler and it allowed me to move my flag to the back of the grab bar farther away from my body. When I take it off for woods riding there are no extra holes in my plastic.

111 views and 2 replys? Whats up with that? I know plastic aint cheap. this is serious! Don't jepordize the looks of your $10,000 QUAD. If any body out there has a better sollution i'd like to hear it.

What size hole did your buddy drill in his plastic?
I was going to drill a hole just big enough for the flag to go threw that way there would be more plastic so I was hoping there would be less of a chance to break.

no problems with the hole for me but I would think that one could tig weld or braze a tab to the existing grab bar if the hole is something they did not want to do

Looks like a nice mount, down under got pretty nice idea also, I'd probably go for the mount because there's no way I'd be able to weld aluminum and make it look that nice

I Drilled the hole in my KTM for the flag..

My problem is the flag hits my helmet alot. took me a few minutes to figure out what it was.
