Hi all,

I've done a quick search and couldn't find this one so hoping it's ok to post?

I need to remove the engine from my 450 XC rocket ship as it's let go again (only 50 hours :( ) and I've got no dealer nearby where I can take it easily so need to send the engine off for rebuild. Needless to say I do not have the skill to do it myself.

Are there any key steps to taking the engine out without breaking/damaging/beating it up and leaving me a mess when I come to put it back in?

Also, are there any pistons to avoid (thinking of just replacing with a genuine KTM piston kit and valves as the price difference wasn't massive)?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

it is lighter if you drain the oil first but is also slipperier. take your pick ha. comes out pretty easy. tip it forward a bit and pull the bottom out first then the top. or maybe its the other way around, either way it has to be tipped forward and to the side.
