When the starter button is pushed absolutely nothing happens. Have not checked current through wires yet, maybe thats next. Both the fuses in the bike are good and battery is brand new. Heard that if the actual starter is bad nothing happens like now. Pretty new to this bike and these motors. Any input on what it may be or something to try would be helpful!

In process of checking the starter, kind of involved having to take the carb and pipe off. Bike doesn't have a key switch but I will be checking the kill switch to see if its bad.

Check the relay before you take the starter off save you some time

With a set of jumper cables hooked up to a car or truck hook up the positive cable to the starter positive terminal and then touch the ground onto the frame or motor and see if the starter turns over. This bypasses everything but the starter itself and will tell you if the problem is the starter or in the wiring somewhere.

there is a copper strip connecting the terminals at the relay to the plug in wiring, this can crack / separate…… no start button…..……. Yamaha's use the same unit…….
