Yep I was surprised at how much difference there was between these two sets of springs. I have a set of barnett springs on order so when they come in I will create a spreadsheet and start a new thread to make the results easier to find.

Kiwi if you feel like it you might wanna cross post this over to ktmtalk. Im sure those guys would find it useful as well.

A little birdy told me to get the EBC springs (before all this nice data was out ). I noticed I had the same clutch slip issue. So what part number are you guys using for the Barnett springs for an XC? I will need to try those.
I'm wondering if this should be a sticky? This is some good data for clutch springs.
    Thanks

Here is the final numbers guys. It looks like Barnetts are the stiffest you can get. They are stiffer then stock but only by about 5% which isnt much. They could be shimmed if more pressure was needed.

Installed Height of clutch spring is 1.025

    clutch throw is .095

    Spring free length
    EBC 1.770
    Stock 1.650
    Barnett 1.695

    coil diameter
    EBC .092
    Stock .101
    barnett .101

    Total coils
    EBC 7.5
    stock 7
    barnett 7.75

    Coil bind

    EBC .800
    Stock .705
    barnett .775

    Spring rate
    EBC 66 lbs/in
    Stock 96 lbs/in
    barnett 101 lbs/in

    Pressure @ installed height
    EBC 40 lbs
    Stock 59 lbs
    barnett 62 lbs

    Additional travel available
    EBC .225
    Stock .320
    barnett .250

Can someone list the outside diameter of the spring and the inner diameter (thru hole clearance).

What is the Barnett part number for an XC.

    Thanks

Freak, my finger tester must be a pos because when I squeezed stock to ebc the ebc were stiffer, they must have went real soft on me. My clutch started slipping after my build and the ebc springs. I thought it was due to more power. I have a slingshot in it now and it doesnt slip, but Ill be putting the stock springs back in anyway.

    Thanks for the info Fox!

I had the ebc springs in my 570 build with the slingshot and had no slippage at all. You will be alright with either set of springs

don't like the barnetts, the clutch drags like a bitch and impossible to select neutral, if fact it's near impossible to move gears at idle there is so much drag in the clutch………. looks like a bigger SX master cylinder is going to be need to give more clutch throw………..
