I race high comp Hondas and have yet to have any issues with a Shorai lithium, they are 210 cranking amps, super lightweight and I have yet to have one die in over 3 years:

I've used both a Honda 450R ES lead battery and Shorai lithiums. They both work much better than stock. The Honda battery is the same dimensions as stock, only taller so it fits in your stock KTM battery box. The Shorai is smaller, much lighter, but costs a little more. It comes with plenty of adhesive foam to make your stock battery box hold it in there tight.

    2009 505 SX
    2008 525 XC-modded for mx (currently 450 cylinder)
    Dad's:
    2009 450 SX
    2008 540 XC

I had bad luck with my Shorai battery, it wouldn't hardly crank the low comp 570 in my dirt bike. I switched to the honda 450r battery and it works much better. I might give the Shorai another in my quad just to see if I got a bad battery the first time around.

You may have received a bad battery. Lithium batteries have a much less internal resistance and shouldn't draw down like a lead acid battery.
