About 2 years ago sold both my KTMs as I decided to go CAN AM. For rideability, I still love the CAN AM, but just about everything else was leaps and bounds better with KTM and decided to buy a KTM again! Picked up a KTM in mint stock condition that was barely riden. Decided to stick with CAN AM still but want to really give KTM a real shot this time around. At best, I will switch back. At worst, it'll enter my collection. No plans to sell this time around.
What I was unhappy with on KTM was the handling and suspension. However, I realized I never gave it a fair shot. I stuck with the stock a-arms and stock WP shock on the rear. Supposedly there are a-arms that will address the handling issue (KTMbill?, Walsh?) and shocks such as PEP that should offer a much better suspension for the rear.
If anyone has suggestions feel free to let me know!
I had the fox floats on the front on KTM and felt like it didn't work at all. Now have fox floats on CAN AM DS450 and it works like magic. So not sure what the hell was wrong with KTM to be honest...must be the stock a-arms and shock leverage..
Thanks for the insight.
Btw, not sure where you live but looks like paradise!
Get some KTMBill A-arms and send the stock shocks to Rocket Ron he will set you up right.........
How about fox shocks with KTMbill a-arms? Does that work well?
As far as rear is concerned, what works better PEP shock or rocketron revalved WP?
I have both, 450sx with pep pb1s and jb pro arms, and a 505sx with walsh arms and RocketRon rebuilds.
The walsh/RR setup is way better IMO.
