    Cross-Country Racing / Trail Tires

So I need some new rear tires. I ride mostly Cross-Country Racing type trail riding in coal country. I need to go 6 ply. Wondering what everybody is running these days. I'm thinking Maxxis Razr 2's. I saw GBC Motorsports X-Rex, and they look exactly like the Razr 2's. Are they the same tire? Any suggestions are appreciated!

The X-Rex run smaller than Razr 2's. I have X-Rex on my KTM now only because they were free when I bought the quad. And to be quite honest, I hate the damn things! If your looking for a good tire for a decent price, try the Kenda Kutter's. The rears last!

Hole shot gncc rears and razr 2 fronts, the hole shots I find hook up great on anything and I've run the razr 2 front for almost 3 years now and there at the same thread depth as razr 1's, I don't race but have over 200 hours on them and lots of that time was pavement and gravel roads

Are you running them? I looked at them, they just don't look that beefy.

No I have DWT xc tires, which I don't like. The vid sums it up pretty well. The old popular set-up was razr 2 fronts/razr rears and the new tires basically replaced that set up. I have been hearing lots of people are switching to the new tires and I know some of my friends don't have any complaints. (other than price)

I run the razr xc's and have been the best Maxxis I've ran. I did not get stuck once at the Ironman this year which says a lot. They just kept clawing. Little too sticky in the corners sometimes, but easy to get used too and better for off cambers. I found the original maxxis a little slick on wet side hills as compared to the xc's. Have held up well. 1/2 tread left after 13 local hare scrambles and a gncc.

I run the GBC X-Rex tires front & rear on my Honda and they work very well. Granted the power output and handling between my Honda and KTM are not equal, but they are still good tires. I've run the ITP GNCC's on my KTM since almost day one and love them - don't see myself changing when they run out. Plus, I live and race in Arizona which has VERY hard and rocky terrain and both brands still last a long time.

I run the holeshot gncc's and am very impressed with how well they hook up in all conditions. The only bad thing is they dont slide very easily.
