    holeshot / wheelie problems.

ever since i bought the KTM (brand new) it has had a problem with holeshots and with wheelies. it always pulls to the left. my holeshots are terrible because soon as my front tires get light it will pull to the left and i have to blip the throttle to put it back down thus giving me terrible holeshots. now i have tried with the stock tires stock rims, bead lock rims with mxr-6's , 2 completly different sets of ice racing studded tires and rims, and changed the axle and checked the tire pressures and nothing seems to help this problem. any idea's???

Try slipping The clutch and not blip the throttle. Has for pulling to the left you can check the axle to see if it square to the frame pick a point at the front of the frame measure to the end of the axle. Are you running a stock axle or a after market one. If the axle is off center you may have to make spacers for your hubs one shorter and one longer to get your hubs centered

Recheck tire pressures, or maybe a valve is bad on one side so it reads lower? but since you changed the tires and rims i am guessing both of those are out. check your front suspension settings and make sure they are the same. if it starts pulling you off to the side you are already angled that way so it keeps going that way. measuring the axle is a great idea to try too. ^

Make sure the air pressure is the same in both tires, then measure the circumfrence of both tires. My guess is one tire is a tad smaller than the other one. You can add air to the smaller one to make it "grow". In the auto race word this is how we adjust stagger. You rare,y find two tires with identical measurements. I hope this helps.

Are the tires properly clocked ??

Is your axle bearing in good condition ??

Is your swing arm bushings/bearings tight ??

When my axle bearing went out on my rappi that is exactly what it was doing, due to the bad axle bearing.

On the ktm it was doing the same thing when I noted that bearings needed some snugging, problem solved when bearings where snugged up.

Try messing with the rebound on that rear shock also. Might want to try slowing it down a little to see if that helps.

ya all bearings and pivot points are tight. as for weight i thought that might be the problem so i leaned hard right to see if that helped still veared to the left soon as the tires got light. tires are definitly proper pressure. could be with the shock setup..... and possibly the axle being off square.

axle is a stock SX one and is perfectly straight. did the same thing with the stock XC one as well.

you leaned the wrong way. you want to lean the way you are veering to give that tire more traction.

well for me it seems like its when the front tires leave the ground is when it gets worse. since most of my riding is on ice, i decided to lower the front of the bike a bit, that helped alot with the wheelieing problems because now the front doesnt lift as easy.

For ice racing i put my frame zero zero. Same height front rear... If not it track too much and doesnt carve as well... I also limit my shock extension to 17.5" instead of 18.5...

Try adding air to the tire on the side it pulls to, if it's pulling left, add a couple psi to that tire, or reduce the air in the op. side rear tire.
