Thread: wont start

    wont start

    When it first messed up no power at all, replaced main fuse then lights came on. when I try to start, the relay clicks but thats it. What could this be?

    sounds like a low battery. you can hook up a charger to it and just try to turn it over right away to see if it works.

    yea tried that, hooked jump box direct to positve and neg. cables, battery not in it and tests good

    so if it is fine with the jump pack then it means your battery is toast.

    No it still dosent start with jump pack. The relay clicks when I push start button.

    take the spark plug out and put the bike in gear and check that the engine turns over when you roll the bike forward. if the relay is clicking then it is trying to give power to starter. if the engine turns over fine when you push it forward then it must be a starter or wiring issue. i have seen a relay just click when the starter was jammed and also when an engine is seized - i really hope its not the latter one.

    I can push start it and it will run. Breaks up though, when I give it throttle.

    just jumped the starter and the starter works, does this mean my relay is bad? relay still just clicks but is not sending power to starter.

    i had the same problem this past nov. 62 bucks for a new relay and i was back to normal. it is an easy fix.
    450 xc, lotto to pay for all the goodies
