So this battery is $109.00 for the standard model, NEVER needs a charger, it is lithium ion and made of carbon fiber. Why wouldn't you buy this battery over the standard battery? Also, they have specific batteries for racing, and also that person who wants extra CCA's without adding a 24V system. Check em out:

From looking at it I guess its almost the same as the turntech battery. You still need a charger, because the KTM drains the battery over longer periods (well mine does)

I have very good results with a Li-ION Battery. Good cranking power and instant starting

Good luck with the battery, let us know how it holds up for you. I think we are all interested to learn more about it's actual capabilities at this point!

Nice... I think I'm gonna give it a try. Even when my battery is fully charged i have to press the starter twice to fire it up. Maybe cause it's a 540. The first time I press it the motor starts to turn over then just locks up. The second time usually gets it going. And what a pain jumping it. Damn positive terminal is just barely out of reach.

I leave the trickle charger (optimate) connected to mine all the time, (just like the road bikes do) It cures all those low battery and starting problems ;-)

I do the same thing after every ride. Makes no difference. Thinkin about a 24v setup. If anyone ends up getting their hands on this battery def let us know how you like it.

I got the Yuasa battery hoping it would make a difference and it did, when it was charged. The last time it did not even go a week, so I got some connectors similar to this Left on battery permanently and these Click without the inline fuse though. I keep my old battery charged up all the time and use it to jump it without having to take the plastics off and starts it right up.

I have mine hooked up in parallel so + to + and - to - doubling the amps. Only thing is that the quick disconnects might be backwards. It's wired regurlarly to the battery red to + and black to -, when I hook it up to the battery I had to put the the - to + and the + to - because the of the wires on the quick disconnects being backwards. Not sure if it makes any sense, hell I'm confused trying to explain it. Works like a charm though!

I changed to the Yuasa battery, it made no difference with the standard battery fitted.

i have no probllems in the summer time with starting, well except when the motor is heated up sometimes i hit the starter and it wont turn so i gotta hit it a second time before it starts to roll over, my problem is in the winter, the stock battery even at full charge doesnt have the CCA to roll the engine over fast enough

i had the same problem, the problem is the starter is reving fast enought below 300rpm when cold....as soon as the rpm reach the 300rpm+ the cdi fires and it is ok!!!

    what i did....
i open and clear the starter with break cleaner (super easy, 30min job)and goes a bit faster

when you put the atv to rest!!!put a tierap on the clutch lever for the night...the clutch wont be dragging even on neutral so it WILL rev faster (over the 300rpm)limit
i also convert my 24v setup to 2x12v setup for the winter (act like a bigger battery, but does NOT rev faster)
last question i have...at what rpm does the dirt bike (no sarter)cdi fires???that might be THE solution
can we modify the stock decompressor to be more "aggressive"
