very nice post!! thats exactly what it seems like, it just doesnt roll over fast enough. if just replacing the battery will do the trick i have no problem spending the 110 bux on a battery, especially if it weighs 4 pounds less!!

    what i did....
i open and clear the starter with break cleaner (super easy, 30min job)and goes a bit faster

when you put the atv to rest!!!put a tierap on the clutch lever for the night...the clutch wont be dragging even on neutral so it WILL rev faster (over the 300rpm)limit
i also convert my 24v setup to 2x12v setup for the winter (act like a bigger battery, but does NOT rev faster)
last question i have...at what rpm does the dirt bike (no sarter)cdi fires???that might be THE solution
can we modify the stock decompressor to be more "aggressive"

Its the stock cdi box that drains the battery while the bike is shut off, since I've installed the vortex cdi I havnt had a problem with it going dead

I had problems with the Yuasa from the get go. Thats why I made a jumper cable to hook up the old battery aswell to fire it up when it had not been fired up for a week or so. Unfortunetly the stock battery died and the yuasa has not kept a charge off the bike and down here where I live it's miserable hot, even garaged and out of the sun it doesn't help. Either way, good info, I'll probably just pop off the hood and disconnect the CDI and see if that helps.

Just go with bigger battery. I race in winter. with the stock'er I could never fire it up in winter. But with the new batter with bigger CCA there is no issue ...

I replaced the stock battery box with my own home made aluminum box and run a yuasa yt12b-bs battery. I think it is about 230 cca [not sure] and I have absolutely no starting problems in 20 degree weather. 613 with 13.5-1 compression.

How are Shoria batteries lasting? My company has done some research on lithium iron phosphate batteries like Shorai, and these type batteries need a battery management system to balance the charge of the cells. I looked into the Shorai, but can not believe that it does not have a battery management system! They want you to buy their extra charger to balance the cells. Your vehicle charges the battery, so what good is the balancing charger that sits in your garage? It just seems dumb.

the shoria battery works great soo far. i cant help out in telling you guys the difference of cranking power because when i installed the shoria batt, i installed a 24v system. but the quad fires as soon as i hit the button. the weight and size of the battery is what suprized me the most. it is way smaller but the battery comes with sizing foam for inside the batt box. after about 10 hours of usage and sitting while i was working on the quad for a couple weeks i hooked up a battery tender for shits and gigs and it said it was fully charged. so far 100% satisfied with the battery... other than the price tag of 140$
