HELP, fan problem!

Hey guys!, so i recently just build another new race bike and i put everything back together the way it came apart once i got it 95% complete i thought i would make sure it ran, so i put antifreeze and checked oil to start with and it fired right up and i noticed i forgot to plug the fan in. so i plugged it in and when i shut off the bike and turned the key off the fan does not shut off unless i unplug it, it has been wired to run all the time with the key ON and even with it off the fan wont shut off... i have another race bike to look at to see whats not right but of course its a complete baldwin wiring harness so that does not help me...

Any Suggestions?

The male plug on the wiring loom for the fan is the same the the one for the voltage regulator, make sure you havn't the plugs mixed up, the fan will run all the time if you have as its getting 12v or so direct from the battery even if you turn the key off!!
