450 solo KTM engine into KTM 450/505 quad frame

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had put a doner KTM 450 lump from a solo bike into a KTM450/505 frame. Have blown my engine (top end) and big rebuild. I know solo engines are smaller (engine casing, litre less oil) but if bottom and rear mounting holes are in same place front mounts and spacers could be made. Any advice welcome!!!

im asumming your talking about the the dirt bike engine when you say solo?

im not sure how close the mounts line up on the dirt bike engine, i know you can use the the whole top end from the connecting rod up, the only thing different is the cams i think.

cams are the same as are alot of the bottom end components except crank (longer on dirtbike) and gearbox (4 speed). clutch, water pump and oil pump are the same and rod and all the head components are the same.
