    Backfire on decel

Finally got around to installing my FCI intake today but now I'm having some serious backfire or "popping" on deceleration. I've used a JD jet kit from the beginning and switched to the red needle and a 190 main. From what I understand the main jet determines 3/4 to full throttle settings so is it getting too much fuel now? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. I even welded the exaust flange and head pipes together to fix leaks and i still shoot some flame out on decel.
I had dave hopkins do the carb and port the head. I too have the fci intake. I am thinking its something in the air fuel mix. But not sure yet.

Thanks guys. I thought the 190 was big but I had a 185 in there from when it was dyno-tuned? If I continue to use the JD kit or go back to a stock 175 will that be ok? The red needle is for high temp/high altitude where the blue is for low temps/low altitude. Living in Phoenix it's generally on the warm side (red needle) but I ride between 1000-2000 feet elevation (blue needle). My motor is stock internally with the FCI intake and Motoworks full system. What should I do?

Buy the HRC kit, and a 45 pilot jet, use the HRC needle on the 2-3 clip down, use the 168 main jet, set the fuel screw @1.75 turns out. save the leak jet incase you ever want to add it later

Can anyone give me the part number off of the HRC needle? My local dealer cannot just order the jet kit by itself so I need to order the individual pieces ... thanks!

I mean for fastranchero to "fix" it. Assuming I can figure out how to remove the carb without too much trouble.
