Bike now has about 12 hrs on it since the repair and is going strong. A new head has been purchased for it that will go on in the near future and the repaired one will be kept as a spare. We have had enough time on it now to be confident it will be a reliable spare. Anyone interseted in the work send me a pm and we can find out about the boy doing others.

ultimate repair would be to include replaceable automotive style bearing shells into the head inserts.

guys in the US are grooving the bearing journal (apparently the 250 has this) to help get oil around to the top of the cam journal which is the high load zone.

again most of the 250 / 450 two wheeler guys are easing back the torque setting from 14 to 10-12 to help the over tightening problems.

If only those shells existed in the correct size. I have searched and searched and came up empty.
