Any drag ktms out there??

I dont own a ktm but id like to down the road, but im big into project bikes so i was hoping i could see if anyones done a drag/duner ktm yet?

KBR built a ktm drag bike long ago that they raced in a few FSA events. Theres also one member here who built one but hasnt posted to much about it. Give me a minute ill see if I can dig up some pics

The kbr bike is owned by another guy now. Who's still doing a big motor. Hes got some titanium stuff on it. Mikebell72 on YouTube. Has 3 duner/drag. 1 is a turbo. And I have a duner turning into drag bike. To do it right cost big bucks. No one does alot for Ktms. So it hard getting lite weight parts. Mike and I had a hard time getting spindle mounts done. There's a pic of mine in my signature. But it's older and just has the garage tires on it. Once I get the rest of my new parts on I'll take a new one. I'm also putting in a 637 motor with. 8/10 cam

that bike looks amazing! My family and i take a couple trips a year to St. Anthonys in Idaho and my yfz just doesnt move up the monster dunes there like i wish it would. so im think a 525xc or 505sx would be better. Why doesnt ktm have fuel injection on there quads yet?

Fuel Injection= More problems and more expensive parts IMO.. A KTM will still smoke a fuel injected Suzuki or yfz... so why not? LOL

One reason was weight and cost, when Ktm was released they were already more then it's competitor

I have some videos of my ktms on my youtube it is mikebell72 also, in my videos the ktm does not win everytime but i dont race slow bikes either i pull up to the fastest bikes that out there and my bike is usually the only stock lenght swingarm bike thats up front. if someone can transfer the videos i seem to have trouble getting them to load up??

you can just post a link to your youtube profile. Do you have any pics of your builds? I tried to look at your videos but its hard to make out any details on your bike.

ya all thats true. ive never ridden a bike with fuel injection so i wouldnt know the difference. I was just looking at ktms site and notice that they have it in there sxf450 now. but i do like how much less the ktm weighs compared to everything else except the can-am

Here is one of my favorite videos i am on my kens 813cc raptor ath the top at this time the bike was making 85hp the bike next to me is jaime he has nice 600 kbr build stock swinger that i think made 62hp at ls and next to him is my 10yr old boy mason on my 570 bike stock swinger it makes 57hp i am proud of this lil guy he can drag race better than 95% or the big guys out there and rest of the group was just behind the ktms are pretty close to my rappy.

you put a turbo on your ktm?!? holy smokes both those things haul. what would be the better quad for the dunes, the 505sx or the 525xc?

My stuff It's not great I just have a turbo Ktm a 608 sx chassis all powder up and a stripped down 570 that kicks everyone else's stock swingers butts. Lol wish my stuff wasn't that great. I feel like I'm on welfare when I pull up next you. By the way don't hand me my butt when we're racing. Your trailer should say baller racing mine should say, state dependant racer

Hey mikebell72 did you dyno that 570 down at waynoka??? I just ran a dyno on mine and i was just curious what you got for torque also!! Thanks!

What did your 570 make?

I have a 540.. well a 97mm piston.. so like 520 lol.. It pulled 50 hp and 38 ftlbs... I found out im running her a bit lean, and i need a new clutch and have for awhile..lol... So Im going to fix both problems and then see what it can do... I really need to put a new clutch in it and then see what it does cause i know it slips really really bad.

I pulled 52 with stock motor ! Coulda got 53 was to fat. You need Ktmbill pipe. And better set up. I didnt even have a fci at the time. Carb was bored to 41mm and bills pipe was it. Good luck.
