Have you used rubber for any of the engine mounts to isolate the vibration?

no i dont have rubber mounts. the vibs are not bad at all with the 380cc its like a normal 2 stroke dirtbike when you ride it. still i have to say the frame is not designed to have a 2 stroke engine so some parts have to be made stronger because of the vibs that are add it

That's the reason I was curious. I wonder if the frame would hold up with rubber mounts... VERY nice project by the way. I REALLY want to do this... But I just dropped enough money that I'm committed to 4 strokes for at least a couple more years haha!

well sell the 4 stroke engine and you will have enough money to built your 2 stroke quad. 380cc sx are cheap to find

Really nice project, will we see any at LeTouquet?

Where do you see engines for sale? Can you say how much you paid in euros?

thanks. no i will not ride LeTouquet. i will ride the dutch open this year. i got my engine from a ktm sx 380 dirtbike. they are selling on the internet for around 1200 euros. i sold my 505 4 stroke engine for 800 and got the 380 for 1100. if you include the welding wire and gas the steel and the bolts end nuts i have spent 600 euros so much cheaper then a 4stroke rebuild. friend of mine is doing it on his ktm to now.

How does the power and weight compare to the 505sx. I assume it doesn't have quite the low and mid range but has a pretty good hit up top.

its realy light compared to the 505c and you have more pure power if you ride it good. the downside is that when you get tired you will lose lots of seconds in your lap times compared to the 4stroke. its a machine were you have to use the clutch and shift grears a lot.
