aside from you gettin a po box in new brunswick, or a friend there, i cant see any good way around the fees.

once i had a subwoofer sold to a guy in canada, i sold it for xxx amount shipped, well, it was going to cost more than 2/3 amount for me to ship it and me to pay some sorta fee that i had to pay, then he still had to pay custom fees... lonsg story short, my factory sub is still in place unused lol.

its kinda a pita, but if you travel to US often, it wouldnt be that bad.
built 400 ex 461, all done up, sleeeeper. 47hp, 32lb/ft... sold

450xc, baldwin head w/Ti valves... motoworks full system... never done...
i may ask a lot questions, but i also know some things.
i dont capitalize, or punctuate or use spell check, but i will joke sometimes about spellcheck

Did you ship via USPS ? Try to avoid using FedEX, UPS. I've shopped at Magic before and shipped with USPS and paid very little on customs, this coming from a UPS driver lol.

Ya UPS likes to give the shaft to us guys in Canada. I wont ever ship with UPS again after my last encounter with them. When i didnt receive parts and i still had to pay all the fees, then they sent Collection agencies after me..

But shipping to the border (if you're close to it) would be the best route. Or if you get it shipped to a business/commercial address and or have your own Customs Broker would probably cut down on the fees.

Hey Pierre I wouldn't be surprised if it came to the door without any custom fees. USPS might be slow but you won't have to hemorrhage money for a part.

It goes by the declared value on the invoice. The tax rates that I don't know.

Not to sound like a dick or nothing, but that story will change when he gets caught or busted for doing that. Then the Customs people will come after both parties to make them pay fines and penalty's and the such. They can even stop the business from ever shipping anything across the border again.

Wanna know how I know about such things?????? It happened to an employer of mine. IMO, its not worth it.

If you live in Canada, get a PO box in the states and transport the stuff across the border yourself. That way its only you that can get in trouble for smuggling your parts for your toy in. Or suck it up and pay the price for not living in the "free world" !! LOL

border is about 4-5 hours drive from home , so the gas/time i lose for going in the usa getting my stuff , i just rather pay the customs

you know that they opened the package at customs to check what was inside. you get away with small item. but don't try to pass a 10k item as a gift it won't work

Only way you can get caught is if the invoice price doesn't match up with the declared value on the waybill. Or if you really exagerate on a item.
